2009 Academy Grants

Academy of Distinguished Educators Awards 2009 Grants

Because a progressive and innovative education is vital to ensure the success of each Pritzker student, the school provides grants to support faculty members’ medical education research endeavors. Recently, the Academy of Distinguished Medical Educators announced the recipients of the 2009 Medical Education Research Awards:

  • Drs. Stacie Levine, William Harper, and Michael Marschke from the Department of Medicine, and Dr. Lisa Vargish from the Department of Family Medicine, will collaborate to research and develop “CAPE (Curriculum for Advancing Palliative Care Education): A Longitudinal, Integrative Approach to Palliative Medicine Training for Medical Students.”
  • Dr. Sarah-Anne Schumann from the Department of Family Medicine, and Drs. Kristine Bordenave and Vineet Arora from the Department of Medicine, will work to promote leaders in service through their research in “Developing and Implementing a Scholarly Track in Community Health and Service-Learning for Pritzker Students.” Funding for their research will also serve to support Pritzker students who are selected for the Summer Service Program.
