Medical Education Research Grants

The Dean for Medical Education and the University of Chicago Medical Center make research funding available to support research in medical student education and resident/fellow education.

The proposals related to medical student education are peer-reviewed through the Academy of Distinguished Medical Educators and those relating to resident/fellow education are peer-reviewed through the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC). Traditionally, recipients receive $12,500 per year with matching funds from their respective departments for a total award amount of $25,000.

Application Process

Request for Proposals are issued annually during Medical Education Day which is held in the fall of each academic year. For additional information about the Medical Education Grants, please email the Dean for Medical Education.
