Unique Features of Our School

Structure

The fact that the medical school is within the Biological Sciences Division is a major strength for our institution primarily because the physicians look at medical questions in terms of the science that is involved and treatments are based on more basic understanding of disease.
- Janet Rowley, MD’48, National Medal of Science Winner ’99, Albert Lasker Clinical Medicine Research Prize for 1998

The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine is one of few medical schools to be situated within a larger Division of the University – The Biological Sciences Division.
