Medical Education Research Information

Scholarship in medical education, be it internally recognized through funding or noted on a national level through presentation at the AAMC Annual Meeting, is an important component to ensuring progress within the institution. We encourage you to seek out opportunities such as those noted below in order to both advance your research interests and to help the institution grow in order to provide the best possible education for our students.

  • RFA for Scholarship in Medical Education: The Academy of Distinguished Medical Educators and the Graduate Medical Education Committee will provide funding - beginning on July 1, 2009 for up to two years - to support research in medical student and resident/fellow education.  
  • AAMC Annual Meeting Submission Deadlines:
    • Research in Medical Education Conference Papers (Research, Review, Symposium and Abstract)
      • Submission Deadline: February 20, 2009
    • GEA/GSA Mini-Workshop Proposals
      • Submission Deadline: March 27, 2009
    • GEA/GSA Small Group Discussion Proposals
      • Submission Deadline: March 27, 2009

Beyond the textbooks and the technology that takes place in the classroom, the real essence of our curriculum is the interaction that our students have with each other, with the faculty, residents and fellows, and most importantly with our patients so our students are very well prepared to make the transition into residency programs and ultimately as physicians- Dean Holly J.
