May - June Plan for the Residency Process
  • Meet with a career advisor to determine career and specialty choice
  • Explore specialty web resources
  • Sign up for USMLE Step II CK & CS
Late June - July
  • Schedule a MSPE Appointment with Dr. Herbert Abelson (email Candi Gard to schedule)
  • Begin contacting faculty for letters of recommendation
July - September Prepare your residency application
  • Write and finalize your personal statement
  • Complete ERAS applications
  • Register for the NRMP website
Early July MyERAS tokens disributed to applicants and website opens to applicants
August 15, 2009 Applicant registration at NRMP begins at 12:00 pm EST.
September - October Finalize Your Residency Application
  • Choose programs to which you wish to send applications
  • Take the Step II CK & CS USMLE Exams
  • Read and approve your MSPE
September 1, 2009 Applicants may begin applying to programs through ERAS and programs may begin contacting the ERAS Post Office to download application files
November 1, 2009 MSPE's/Dean's Letters are released.
November 30, 2009 Applicant Registration deadline at NRMP
(Late registration still possible, but with additional fee).
November-January Decide Your Rank Order
  • Accept interviews quickly within 2-3 days
  • Contact the Alumni Office for the Overnight Host Program with a Pritzker graduate
  • Meet with your career advisor after you're done interviewing to discuss how to rank your programs

Pritzker Deadline to Take Step 2 Exams

Set up an appointment with David Zupko or Lori Orr to discuss your transcript
January 15, 2010 Rank order list entry begins at NRMP. Applicants and programs may start entering their rank order lists at 12:00 pm EST.
February - March Prepare For The Match!
February 24, 2010 Rank Order Deadline at NRMP
Applicants and students must certify their rank order lists by 9:00pm
Late Registration Deadline at NRMP

Applicants and programs must certify their rank order lists by 9:00 PM eastern time. Staff will be available to answer questions during the final deadline hours.

Scramble
Filled and unfilled results for individual programs posted to the NRMP website at 11:30 a.m. EST. Locations of all unfilled positions are released at 12:00 pm EST. Unmatched applicants may begin contacting unfilled programs at 12:00 pm EST.
March 18, 2010 Match Day!
Match results for applicants are posted to the NRMP website at 1:00 pm EST.
