Overview
Although highly variable in conception and execution, this course begins by a student identifying an area of shared interest with a faculty member. Examples of such topics include smoke inhalation, pharmacokinetics of anesthetic drugs, etc. Following a literature search to insure that the subject can be encompassed in the period of time allocated, the student will critically read the relevant publications under the tutelage of the faculty member. It is expected that a publishable manuscript (Usually a review article) will result.
Objectives
The essence of this course is to improve the student's ability to critically read the literature, evaluate salient aspects, and participate in the writing and editorial process.
Evaluation
The student will be evaluate both on the learning process as well as the quality of the resulting manuscript.
