Overview
This course will provide a setting to review some well-known and often cited studies in the medical literature thus improving the student's ability to read the medical literature and providing a foundation of familiarity with important studies. Past and current studies of all designs, from all medical and surgical specialties, will be considered. We will concentrate on how to read these articles critically and how to apply the results to the practice of medicine. Articles covered are chosen by students from a course syllabus and from the entire body of the medical literature.
Objectives
Improve skills in using literature to solve clinical problems. Familiarize students wit some important studies, both past and current.
Evaluation
Attendance, participation, and a students' 30 minute evidence based discussion of a clinical question.
