Overview
Student will attend pediatric dermatology clinic in various settings, both hospital and clinic based. He/she will be given recommendations for reading specific pediatric dermatology and have the opportunity to discuss these readings with a pediatric dermatology attending. The student will be given the opportunity to see patients with a variety of dermatologic conditions. The student will round with the team on the pediatric dermatology consult service.
Objectives
Be able to perform a complete dermatological exam on pediatric patients. Be able to adequately describe cutaneous lesions making use of the dermatologic vocabulary. Be able to generate a differential diagnosis based on the lesions observed. Be able to recognize common pediatric derm conditions and become familiar with treatment options.
Evaluation
The student will be evaluated on knowledge of readings, clinical ability to evaluate and describe patient's and their findings, and active participation on the pediatric dermatology team.
