Overview
To provide education to hospitalized pediatric patients and families regarding asthma management and reduce their number of hospitalizations related to asthma exacerbations.
Objectives
To prepare Fourth year students to educate pediatric patients and their families about asthma and all aspects of its management.
Evaluation
Review of asthma education log kept by each student. Maximum 1 month for 50 credits and minimum 2 weeks for 25 credits.

Schedule Notes
At least one hour/week; there is a call schedule - Call 2-6178. This section covers whole month. Students interested in a 2 week rotation should register for either PEDS 31300-01 (first half of the month) or PEDS 31300-02 (second half of the month). Arrange specific dates with Evelyn Simpson.
