Overview

The Fourth year student will be fully involved in the activities of the Pediatric Nephrology Section at the Children's Hospital. These activities include both outpatient and inpatient diagnosis and management of children with a wide variety of kidney and genitourinary diseases. These activities include participation in Transplant and Nephrology clinics, renal biopsy conference, patient care and teaching rounds, and clinical conferences.

Objectives

Stress will be placed on reading in depth about specific aspects of kidney transplantation and problems in Pediatric Nephrology. The elective can be tailored to the individual needs and goals of the student.

Evaluation

Evaluated based on performance at end of the rotation.
