Overview

This course is designed to provide the 4th year medical students advanced knowledge in particular topics in radiation oncology, and to build on concepts learned in the initial elective. Students are encouraged to participate in a clinical, basic science or physics research project. Projects are chosen with and supervised by the course instructor. Topics may include disease outcome study, radiation sequelael, radiation biology or physics. Students also participate in the clinics and the didactic conferences and lectures of the residency program.

Objectives

To provide students a general knowledge of clinical radiation oncology and the management and treatment of the cancer patient.

Evaluation

Students will be evaluated on their interaction with staff and patients, and case presentations.
