Overview
Short, intensive review of health policy and health finance issues in a seminar format. Reviews how health care is paid for (or not paid for), how providers react to these stimuli and what trajectories follow from today's choices.
Objectives
Factual understanding of the basic policy framework for health care financing and regulation. General understanding of the dynamics among the various elements. Generalized ability to apply fundamental dynamics to understand policy developments subsequent to the course.
Evaluation
Attendance at class, particularly participation in discussion reflecting having done readings and thought about them. If relevant, a paper on a selected policy topic.
