Overview

Biomedical Informatics concerns the acquisition, representation, storage, retrieval, and utilization of information in biological research, education and healthcare. Computing and telecommunication technologies and their relevance to biomedicine will be revealed in reading, discussions, and homework.

Objectives

The student will understand core principles of biomedical informatics, history and development of the field. Medical informatics applications and have adequate working knowledge to interact with biomedical informaticians.
